If you notice, lately (the past 6 months or so) GOG has started using the official developer's version numbers, like is the case for the D:OS patches. GOG creates their own installers, therefore those installers need to have version numbers. The problem is that many people don't understand software development, so it can be a little confusing, but not moronic. Hasn't dawned on no one in GOG yet that'd be a swell idea to change it? The GOG versioning scheme is far from moronic. Pretty sure there are plenty times more around and the more new games GOG brings, the more such complains will keep pilling. AndyBuzz: Is there by any chance a change in that moronic version scheme coming? I've personally seen at least a dozen times confused users complaining.
